My name is Scott Carmichael, I'm an illustrator working in Edmonton, Canada. I graduated from Alberta College of Art and Design in 2009.

I've noticed that I really miss the quantifiable progress that was so evident watching my friends from week to week at school. This is an attempt to fill part of that void as I post both my successes and failures to keep me honest and productive.

After obsessing over for over 6 hours on several versions of colour compositions, this is the last colour comp (I promised myself). The final piece will be painted in acrylic on a giant sheet of plywood. I haven’t painted — let alone painted large, in forever so this is a crazy experiment for me. I’m kind of nervous! My blog is looking a little too grayscale lately with unfinished drawings and sketches, so a splash of colour was due and hopefully I’ll have this thing all painted up to show off in a couple weeks.
